About Tianluoshan Site

A Hemudu-culture village site at Xiang'ao village in Sanqishi, inhabited about 7,000 to 5,500 years ago, found in 2001 and excavated from 2004, whose waterlogged layers kept timber pile-house remains, the layout of a village, rice, food remains and what are thought to be the roots of cultivated tea plants. A shelter hall built over the excavation in 2007 lets visitors look down on the dig and its finds.
