About Yuzhou Museum
Yuxian's county museum, ranked a national second-grade museum, which moved in 2016 from Shijia Temple into a purpose-built building of about 13,000 sq m. Its main exhibition, 'Daiwei Changge' ('A Long Song of Dai and Yu'), follows the area from prehistory through the ancient state of Dai, the Sui–Tang and Liao–Yuan periods and the Ming–Qing fortified villages, and was named one of China's ten best museum exhibitions of 2016. A second exhibition is devoted to Yuxian paper-cutting, a nationally listed intangible heritage craft, and the collection of about 11,000 items includes a Western Han painted bronze goose-and-fish lamp.
