About Cangqian Granary
A group of four storehouses beside the Yuhang Tang River at Cangqian, including two old timber granaries with a board dated 1859, where local grain keepers in 1953 created what was promoted as China's first insect-free granary. It became the model for a national campaign for granaries free of insects, mould, rats and sparrows, and a small exhibition on that history opened on the site in 2009.
