About Xu Ancestral Hall, Fuxi
The clan temple of the Xu family of Fuxi, built in 1490 for the family of the Ming official Xu Pu and also known as the Grand Tutor Xu Family Temple. Of its five courtyards, the second and third halls are original, and the main hall's nanmu beams and pillars still carry brightly coloured Suzhou-style painted decoration of scrolling flowers, brocade patterns and cranes; the gate and an opera stage are recent rebuilds.
