About City Wall of Xiangcheng
The western side of Xiangcheng's old county wall, the only part left after the south, east and north walls were pulled down between the Republican era and the 1970s. The wall was faced with brick in the late Ming, wrecked by Li Zicheng's rebels and rebuilt in 1651; it now runs along the western edge of the old town, a few hundred metres from the Confucian Temple.
