About Revolution Park

Laid out in 1927 in the north-east of the walled city, Revolution Park commemorates the soldiers and civilians who died during the siege of Xi'an in 1926, and a mass public funeral for them was held here in March 1927. Its Revolution Pavilion is the Mingyuan Tower moved from the Qing provincial examination hall, and the grounds keep a group of old memorial steles and statues of Yang Hucheng, Liu Zhidan and Xie Zichang. Today it is also a neighbourhood park with a lotus pond and pavilions.
