About Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall & Zhongshan Park, Wuzhou
Wuzhou's oldest park, laid out on a hill above the old town in 1924 when the city wall was pulled down, and renamed Zhongshan Park in October 1930 when its memorial hall to Sun Yat-sen was completed. Sun stayed in Wuzhou three times in 1921–22 while preparing the Northern Expedition, and the white hall, which combines a Chinese palace-style front with a domed tower and a 1,000-seat auditorium, displays photographs and objects on his life and his visits to the city. The park also has gardens, a bamboo grove on the back slope and a memorial hall to the revolutionary Wei Baqun.
How to get to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall & Zhongshan Park, Wuzhou
In Wanxiu District, central Wuzhou, on the hill just north of the arcade-house quarter; a short walk from the old town or a few minutes by taxi. The memorial hall is closed on Mondays.
