About Lili Ancient Town
A well-preserved canal town in the south-east of Wujiang near the borders with Shanghai and Zhejiang, laid out as one canal with a street along each bank. Both banks are lined with two-storey Ming and Qing buildings whose shopfronts and halls run on without a break along the water. Among them is the house the poet Liu Yazi rented from 1922, once a Qing minister's mansion and now a memorial museum.
