About Wangjing Tower, Weihui
A two-storey hall of brick and stone built in 1591 by Zhu Yiliu, Prince of Lu and the only full brother of the Wanli Emperor, who raised it out of longing for his mother in Beijing; its name means 'gazing towards the capital'. It is a vaulted 'beamless' hall with no timber frame, faced with bluestone outside and white stone within. The library hall that once stood on its roof is gone, but a carved four-pillar stone archway still stands up there.
