About Shihu Garden
A small private garden built in 1885 in the old Weicheng district, covering about 2,000 square metres and named 'Ten Tablets' after its modest size. Courtyards, halls, rockeries, a pond and trees are packed into the compound, which was bought by the wealthy Ding family and now houses a museum. It lies inside a restored cultural district, the 4A scenic area, and suits a short stop for a compact Qing-period garden.
