About Eighth Route Army Xinjiang Office
The former Eighth Route Army office in Xinjiang, which worked from 1937 to 1942, when the Communist Party kept representatives such as Chen Yun, Deng Fa and Chen Tanqiu in Dihua (Ürümqi) under the provincial ruler Sheng Shicai; Zhou Enlai and Wang Jiaxiang were among those who stayed there. The surviving two-storey building, put up as a private house in 1928–33, was used by the representatives from 1938. A memorial hall opened on the site in 1963, and an exhibition building completed in 2021 presents the office's history.
