About Ang'angxi Sites and Site Museum

The Ang'angxi sites are a group of Neolithic fishing-and-hunting settlements on the Nen River plain, which gave their name to the Ang'angxi culture first dug by the archaeologist Liang Siyong in 1930. The site museum, built in 2002 beside the Tengjiagang site, shows stone, bone and jade tools and other finds from the group, more than 3,000 objects in all. The sites themselves lie on sand dunes outside the town, so the museum is the part to visit.
