About Tanheli Site

A Western Zhou walled town with palace foundations on a terrace where the Duanxi stream meets the Wei River in Huangcai, western Ningxiang, in an area that has yielded hundreds of Shang and Zhou bronzes, among them the Four-Goat Square Zun and the Da He square ding with a human face. The site is now a national archaeological park, and the Tanheli Bronze Museum, opened in 2016, displays finds from the site and the story of bronze-making south of the Yangtze. Beside it is Tanhe Ancient City, a Zhou-themed park built by the Songcheng group and opened in 2017.
