About Xianhai Lake, Mianyang
A reservoir lake about 15 km east of central Mianyang, formed by the Chenkang Reservoir of the Wudu irrigation scheme and run as a national water-conservancy scenic area and 4A resort. The lake covers about 7 km² within a 75 km² scenic zone, with a lakeside boardwalk, cycle paths, water-sports facilities and lakeside hotels, and its water is kept clean enough to meet China's Grade II standard. It is a weekend retreat for Mianyang residents and an easy half-day out from the city.
