About Lüshun Museum
Founded in 1915 under Japanese administration and housed since 1918 in an eclectic Renaissance-style building, the Lüshun Museum is a national first-grade museum whose collections include archaeology of the Dalian area, relics from Xinjiang, ceramics, snuff bottles, coins and a gallery of mummies gathered on early twentieth-century expeditions to Central Asia. The building is nationally listed as the former Kwantung Museum, and the Sino-Soviet Friendship Tower stands in the cherry-planted square in front of it. Temporary exhibitions change through the year.
