About Northern Zhou Stele of King Wen

A stele carved in 557 on a great boulder in the Longquan Mountains, recording the deeds of Yuwen Tai, honoured as King Wen of Northern Zhou, and dedicating a Buddhist and a Taoist image. Sheltered by a roofed gallery, its 40 lines and more than 1,400 characters remain clear. Carved niches from the Northern Zhou to the Qing share the same rock, behind Dafo Temple beside the old Chengdu–Chongqing post road.
