About China Ancient Cart Museum

This museum on the east bank of the Zi River stands on the Neolithic Houli site, where a pit of buried Spring and Autumn period chariots and horses was uncovered in 1990 during construction of the Jinan–Qingdao expressway. The pit hall lies under the expressway's bridge approach and shows the remains where they were found, while a separate gallery displays 19 reconstructed vehicles from the Shang dynasty to the Qing and nearly a hundred models. It suits visitors interested in early Chinese transport or the archaeology of the Qi state.
