About Baisha Murals and Dabaoji Palace

Baisha village, north of Lijiang and part of the Old Town of Lijiang World Heritage Site, was an early political centre of the Naxi, and its Ming-dynasty halls hold the best-known group of the Baisha murals. The Dabaoji Palace and the neighbouring Liuli Hall, protected together as a national monument, have wall paintings that mix Chinese Buddhist, Daoist and Tibetan Buddhist imagery, reflecting the Naxi rulers' support for several religions.
