About Maryknoll Convent School, Kowloon Tong

Built in 1937, the Main Building of Maryknoll Convent School is laid out like a medieval monastery or college, with cloisters around an open courtyard, pointed arches and a single tower on the facade. Its loose neo-Tudor style also borrows from Art Deco, Romanesque, Neo-Georgian and Gothic Revival architecture. The Maryknoll Sisters founded the school in 1925, the building served as a Japanese military hospital from 1942 to 1945, and the primary section still uses it today.
