About Tang Kwong U Ancestral Hall

Tang Kwong U Ancestral Hall, also known as Loi Shing Tong, was built in 1701 in Shui Tau, Kam Tin, by Tang Tseung Luk to commemorate Tang Kwong-u, the 17th-generation ancestor of the Tang clan, and it was renovated in 1782. It is a Qing vernacular building of two halls and one courtyard, with plaster mouldings on the facade and carved woodwork inside. At one time it was converted into a shop and then a factory, before a full restoration in 1996.
