About Former Jihai Railway Terminus (Jilin West Station)
A Gothic-style station building of 1928–29 with a stone-walled hall and a clock tower about 29 m high, built as the terminus of the Jihai Railway, which People's Daily's Jilin channel calls the first railway in the north-east built by Chinese themselves. The old station, now called Jilin West Station, still handles freight only and has had no passenger trains since 2011. After restoration the building opened to the public on 1 September 2024, with an exhibition on the railway, a recreated station waiting hall and booking office, and a café.
