About Beishan Park
A hillside city park in the west of Jilin, laid out in 1924 around a group of Qing-period temples, among them the Guandi Temple of 1701, the Yaowang (Medicine King) Temple of 1738 and the Jade Emperor Pavilion of 1776, with a granite arch bridge of 1935 spanning the valley between the two peaks. Its temple fairs were added to China's national intangible heritage list in 2011, and the rear hill has a martyrs' cemetery and a four-season cross-country ski centre. It is a popular place for local walks and views over the city.
