About Fangchuan Scenic Area

Fangchuan is a small village on the lower Tumen River at the eastern tip of Hunchun, close to where the borders of China, Russia and North Korea meet. From the viewing tower, the Longhu Pavilion, visitors can see the river, the Russia–North Korea railway bridge, the Russian settlement of Khasan and, across the river to the south-west, the North Korean city of Rason. The scenic area also holds the Tuzi marker, a granite boundary stone set up in 1886 and now a nationally protected monument, as well as a folk-culture area of the village's ethnic Korean community and a lotus lake.
