About Baoyun Pagoda

A nine-storey octagonal brick pagoda about 35 m tall, standing in the grounds of Baoyun Temple at Jiucheng village on the south-western edge of Hengshui. Its lowest two levels show Tang-style detailing and the upper levels Song features, and heritage experts date it to the early Northern Song; it has been nationally protected since 2006. After repairs the pagoda and its temple grounds reopened to visitors in 2014, and many locals visit on the 15th and 16th days of the first lunar month.
