About Liangzhu Culture Park
A park in Gaoqiao, on the western edge of Ningbo, devoted to the legend of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, the 'Butterfly Lovers', and built on the site of a temple and a Jin-dynasty tomb traditionally said to be Liang Shanbo's. Opened in 1999 and reopened in 2012 after expansion, it tells the story in scenes along garden paths, with pavilions, the Liang Shanbo temple, a rebuilt joint tomb of the lovers and a sculpture of the pair turned into butterflies. It has nothing to do with the Neolithic Liangzhu culture near Hangzhou.
