About Fortified Structure at Ha Pak Nai

A two-storey grey-brick fortified house with gun embrasures in its outer walls, built around 1910 by Tang Yam-nam after the failed New Army Uprising in Guangzhou. It served as a base and refuge for followers of Sun Yat-sen, working with the Castle Peak Farm in Tuen Mun, and looks across Deep Bay from the coast at Ha Pak Nai. The Antiquities and Monuments Office records its link with the late Qing revolutionary movement.
