About Erling Pagoda

A stone pagoda about 10 m tall on the ridge of Erling Hill, a snake-shaped peninsula on the south-east side of Dongqian Lake, built in the Zhenghe era (1111–1118) of the Northern Song. Carved in imitation of a timber pavilion-style tower, it is a rare Northern Song stone building in Zhejiang, and with Erling Temple below it forms one of the lake's traditional Ten Views, 'Evening Glow at Erling'.
