Siping 四平Sìpíng
Smoked-meat pancakes, Manchu heritage and a railway town fought over in 1946–48

About Siping
Siping grew up as a railway junction on the plain between Changchun and Shenyang, and in the civil war of 1946–48 the city was fought over in four battles, the subject of the Siping Campaign Memorial Hall. South-east of the city, Yehe Nara City is a 1990s reconstruction in the homeland of the Yehe clan, from whose Nara line Empress Dowager Cixi descended. Yitong, Jilin's only Manchu autonomous county, has a museum of Manchu life.
