About Baishan

Baishan, the 'white mountain', takes its name from Changbai Mountain, whose western slopes and forests lie in its Fusong county, where rafts on the Lushuihe run past rime-coated trees in winter. To the south the Yalu River forms the border with North Korea: Changbai, China's only Korean autonomous county, faces the city of Hyesan across the water, and a hill park above the town keeps the Lingguang Pagoda, a brick pagoda from the Bohai kingdom (698–926).
