About Da Hinggan Ling
Da Hinggan Ling is China's northernmost prefecture, a land of forest on the northern Greater Khingan slopes, long hunting country for the Oroqen, with the Amur along its northern edge. In Mohe, China's northernmost city, Beiji Village, nicknamed North Pole Village, stands on the river, and the lowest temperature recorded in China, −53 °C, was measured here in January 2023. Longjiang First Bend, a sharp turn of the Amur, and the Twenty-Second Post Station and Old Post Road recall the area's frontier past.
