About Daqing

Daqing grew from open grassland and marsh after oil was found here in 1959, and the Daqing Oil Pavilion and the Daqing Inaugural Oil Well (Songji-3 Well) record how the field began. Around it lie lakes and wetlands, and the city is known as the city of a hundred lakes, with hot-spring resorts at Lindian and Lianhuan Lake. In Dorbod, the province's only Mongol autonomous county, Amuta Mongolian Folk Island offers a taste of Mongol culture.
