About Ding'an
Ding'an is a county governed directly by the province, on the Nandu River in north-eastern Hainan. Ding'an Old City, whose Ming walls were begun in 1466 and finished in 1519, keeps its west and north gates, more than a kilometre of wall, a restored county office and an arcaded street. Wenbifeng Pangu Culture Park, a Southern Song-style Taoist complex, ties Wenbi Peak to the legend of Pangu, and the county is known for its zongzi and Xiangou beef.
