Liupanshui 六盘水Liùpánshuǐ
Ski slopes on karst peaks, golden ginkgo groves and Guizhou's highest summit

About Liupanshui
Liupanshui grew into a coal and steel centre under the Third Front, the drive from the mid-1960s to move industry inland, and its cool summers have since earned it the nickname 'Cool Capital'. In winter Meihuashan and Yushe Snow Mountain run ski slopes, and in autumn about 1,400 old ginkgo trees turn gold at Tuole Ancient Ginkgo Village. Xiaojiucaiping climbs towards the Jiucaiping summit, at 2,900.6 m the highest point in Guizhou.
