About Heyuan

Heyuan, a Hakka city on the upper Dong River, sits beside Wanlü Lake, Guangdong's largest man-made lake, whose clear water is bottled as mineral water. More than 10,000 fossil dinosaur eggs have been dug up around the city since 1996, many now shown at the Heyuan Dinosaur Culture Park and Guifeng Pagoda. Upriver, Zhao Tuo, later king of Nanyue, founded Tuocheng Ancient Town in 214 BC as the seat of Longchuan County, and hot springs rise in the hills of Heping.
