About Yongji Bridge, Zhuozhou

A long stone-arch bridge across the Juma River on the northern edge of Zhuozhou. The nine-arch main span was built in 1760 next to an earlier bridge begun in 1574, and long approach causeways with small culverts bring the whole structure to over 600 metres; its balustrades are carved with vases and lotus leaves. The bridge was repaired between 2008 and 2012 and now forms part of a riverside scenic area.
