About Only Henan: Land of Dramas

An immersive theatre park opened in June 2021 in Zhongmu county, directed by Wang Chaoge: a walled 'fantasy city' of rammed loess, 328 m on each side, set among wheat fields. Inside, three main theatres and dozens of smaller courtyard stages run some 700 minutes of performances on Henan's history and culture, from historical figures of the Central Plains to the famine of 1942–43 and the building of the railways. Seeing the three main theatre shows and some of the shorter pieces takes most of a day.

How to get to Only Henan: Land of Dramas

In Zhongmu county east of Zhengzhou, about 40 minutes by road from the city centre and close to the Fantawild parks and the film town.
