About Long Family Ancestral Hall

The ancestral hall built from the early 1930s by Long Yun, the ethnic Yi chairman of Yunnan's provincial government in the Republican era, about 7 km south of Zhaotong city. Enclosed by a wall and a lotus-planted moat, it pairs a shrine of three courtyards with a residential compound guarded by watchtowers, mixing Chinese temple layout, garden design, European details and features of Yi fortified manors. Its fine wood and stone carving includes a five-dragon stone relief in front of the entrance hall.
