About Jidu Temple, Xidun
Jidu Temple at Xidun is a one-courtyard temple to the god of the Ji River, one of the four great rivers of old Chinese tradition with the Yangtze, Yellow and Huai. Inscriptions show that work began in 1122 under the Song and was completed only in 1188 under the Jin, after a gap caused by war; the main hall has octagonal stone front columns and a single-eave overhanging-gable roof. A local enthusiast found it in 2009, and in 2011 it was named one of the 100 new discoveries of the third national survey of cultural relics.
