About Jincheng Erxian Temple

A Song-dynasty temple to the two Yue sisters, local deities of south-east Shanxi, laid out in two courtyards in Xiaonan village. A stele of 1117 records that building began in 1097, and the main hall is the only Northern Song building left in the complex. Inside stand sixteen Song painted clay figures and a finely made miniature timber shrine with pavilions and a rainbow bridge.
