About Tianran Pagoda
An eight-sided, seven-storey brick-and-stone pagoda 43 m high on the north bank of the Yangtze in Binjiang Park, with guardian figures carved around its base. Tradition says the first pagoda here was built in the Jin dynasty; the present one was rebuilt in 1790–92 with donations from local gentry. A spiral stair of 145 stone steps runs inside, and the pagoda stands beside the Yichang Yangtze River Bridge carrying the Yichang–Wanzhou railway.
