About Guanglu Old Town and Longhua Temple

This scenic area covers the old centre of Guanglu, a small town north-west of Yao'an county seat, and Longhua Temple at the town's western edge. First a hermitage housing a reclining Buddha and enlarged in the Yuan dynasty, the temple was destroyed and rebuilt several times; the present buildings date from 1907. Its five-bay main hall contains a large Buddhist shrine canopy, one of the bigger surviving examples.
