About Gao Yi Que

A pair of carved stone pillar-gates (que) built in the Jian'an era (196–220) of the Eastern Han dynasty at the tomb of Gao Yi, a governor of Yizhou. The right-hand que survives largely intact, covered in relief carvings and inscriptions, with a pair of winged stone beasts (bixie) in front and the tomb mound behind. The site, now in a small heritage park, was badly damaged in the 2013 Lushan earthquake, after which a conservation plan was approved.
