About Mi County Yamen
The government compound of old Mi County at the centre of Xinmi's old town, seat of the county from 616 until the 1970s; the present buildings date from a rebuilding under the Kangxi Emperor. Its five courtyards hold the main and ceremonial gates, three halls for justice and administration, a two-storey tower and a walled jail used until 2003, with lotus ponds inside the main gate. It is now a museum of local government in imperial China.

At the central crossroads of the old town of Xinmi, about an hour by road south-west of Zhengzhou.
