About Yongling Tomb, Xinbin

Yongling is the burial ground of Nurhaci's forebears: his father Taksi, grandfather Giocangga, great-grandfather Fuman and the earlier ancestor Mengtemu, together with two of his uncles. Laid out from 1598 and renamed Yongling in 1659, it is entered through a Manchu-style gate with a wooden-fence door, passes four stele pavilions with inscriptions in Manchu, Mongolian and Chinese, and ends at a square courtyard with a main hall and a circular wall around the graves. It is the senior but smaller of the three Qing imperial tombs of the Shenyang–Xinbin area, and with Fuling and Zhaoling it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2004 as part of the Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
