About Yanfu Temple
A Buddhist temple in a hill hollow at Taocun village, Taoxi town, in southern Wuyi County, founded in the 10th century. Its main hall, rebuilt in 1317 and given a lower second roof in the Ming, is the oldest Yuan-dynasty timber building in Zhejiang, with unusual long-beaked bracket sets that the architectural historians Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin studied in 1933. The other halls are Qing, and the complex was restored in 2014–16.
