About Site of Qin Xianyang

Remains of the palace district of Xianyang, capital of the state of Qin from 350 BC and of the First Emperor's empire until it was burned in 206 BC, on the terrace north of the Wei River. A site museum beside the excavated foundations of Palace No. 1, opened in 1995 and since renovated, shows models of the palace and finds such as hollow bricks with dragon and phoenix designs, drainage pipes and coins. Since 2025 the area has been a national archaeological site park, which also takes in the Qin-Han Hall of the Shaanxi History Museum, opened in 2024.
