About Yan Ziling's Fishing Terrace

A riverside hill on the Fuchun River south of Tonglu, honouring Yan Guang (Yan Ziling), a first-century scholar who refused office from his old schoolfellow Emperor Guangwu of Han and retired here to fish. Visitors arrive by boat to see a stone memorial archway, a garden of inscribed steles with poems and essays about the place, and the Shrine of Mr Yan, first founded by Fan Zhongyan in the Northern Song.

How to get to Yan Ziling's Fishing Terrace

About 15 km south of Tonglu town on the Fuchun River; there is no road to the terrace itself, so visitors board the scenic area's boats at its visitor hall.

Nearby

Also within 20 km: Xishan Bridge 西山桥 (10 km).
