About Shishui Stepping Stones

A stepping-stone crossing of 1795, rebuilt in 1820, across the river at Xidong village in Shiyang town, southern Taishun: 233 stones over 144 m, each step having a higher block of white granite and a lower one of bluestone so that two people can pass. Seen from a distance the line of stones looks like a keyboard, which gives it the local name 'piano bridge'.
