About Leigudun Tombs
The cemetery of the rulers of the state of Zeng in the Warring States period, spread over a low rise on the north-western edge of Suizhou as eight burial grounds covering about 116 hectares. The best-known tomb is that of Marquis Yi of Zeng, opened in 1978 and yielding more than 15,000 objects, among them a set of 65 bronze bells whose originals are now in the Hubei Provincial Museum in Wuhan. A protective display building stands over the tomb pit, and the Suizhou Museum next door displays Zeng-state bronzes and gives chime-bell performances.
