About Liuzi Grand Canal Site

Liuzi village lies on the Tongji Canal section of the Sui–Tang Grand Canal, and excavations here in 1999 and 2012–13 confirmed the canal's route and uncovered Tang boats, Song stone bridge piers and pottery from more than 20 kilns. It is a component of the Grand Canal World Heritage Site, and the excavated bridge remains, under a large protective hall, opened to the public in May 2025 as the Liuzi Canal Bridge Site Museum. Many of the finds are shown at the Huaibei Museum.
